COPY DRAFTS
Depending on the project, a first draft of the copy may be submitted for review. If the project is less than 500 words, the first submission is the final submission. Corrections are made at no charge. For larger projects, a schedule is submitted along with benchmarks for copy reviews.
DESIGN COMPS
During the design stage, depending on your particular web plan, you receive one or more design comps/layouts to review. Once the client says they like the design, it is used for site development. If additional comps are included in the web plan, and the client asks to see the comp with a few changes, the modified design is submitted. Once the number of design comps included as part of the plan is exhausted, additional design comps are billable at our current hourly rate and are prepaid before work begins.
PAGE CONTENT DEVELOPMENT
Web development and programming are done based on the approved web design.
The web pages are developed. A navigation system is created. Features, web enhancements and security services ordered are installed.
Note: The process is somewhat different for PHP programmed ecommerce stores and retailer shops with shopping carts.
WEB PAGE TEXT
For standard web pages, it is your responsibility to submit your text for each page unless you have engaged our copywriting services. The copy must be submitted in plain text, NOT formatted (no bold, underline, tables, etc.)
Note: It is important that the link names and content reflect your keyword selections and reinforce the dynamics of the title/meta tags. An experienced copywriter provides draft copy for your approval to ensure that it portrays the proper message for your prospective web visitors while maintaining good keyword density for major search engines. Keep in mind when writing your own text that you write for the web differently than you write for a printed brochure or for a sales letter. If you do not follow accepted protocol, you may not get listed in search engines and you may not get web traffic to your site. For selected web plans, copy editing is included to help the site meet these standards. But if a client modifies our edited copy, there is a fee to optimize it.
MINOR REVISIONS
When client receives the Good News that the site is ready for the check and test, we make any and all corrections at no charge. We may make minor revisions as a courtesy for the sake of good will. These generally mean changes in the text and normally do not take us more than an hour to complete.
Minor revisions are: Deleting text from web pages. Adding 1-50 words to web pages. Uploading modified pages to server.
Major changes are billable and include: new pages, links, design elements, layout and colors (if they are part of design or complex color system). An addition or change in pictures, images, documents and/or programming is a major change, as it requires development time not included with the original web services order.
We are committed to following the input you provide to the best of our ability (from your written input in the Client Questionnaire). If we have not followed your input, we make any needed change at no charge. That's why it is important to be clear and provide complete information upfront. If you decide on major changes, please note that these revisions are billable at the current hourly rate.
Ecommerce: If you ordered a full-featured ecommerce web site, such as our web store or retailer shop, you don't need to submit the catalog/inventory images as you do this on your own using the back-end admin panel. If you are not sure, please inquire before sending us your images.
Add-Ons: Web maintenance, enhancements, security services and marketing services, such search engine optimization, are not included with web design and development. Order these services separately.
