How to Start a Business on the Internet: Introduction

All of the business training information that we offer you is free. It's based on our own knowledge and the experiences from the hundreds of clients we've helped over the years to achieve their goals.

There are 10 parts to this e-learning program, and there's no waiting to receive emails. You can find links to all 10 lessons included under Solutions. There's no moderator. It is self administered or a do-it-yourself course.

By the end of this course on how to start a business, you will have knowledge and confidence on how to start your own business from choosing the best domain name and reliable business hosting to how to get the best website that fits into your budget, attracts web traffic and more.

When you start a new business online, you want to look ahead… do a little planning. So for this lesson, set your objectives. It can be a short lesson, but for those who really put in the time and thought to create a picture of what they want - not just now - but a year from now... well, then it can take 3 or 4 hours to consider and document your goals.

Your goal setting is a picture — not necessarily a sales forecast. “See” your business the way you expect it to be — in a year — after you have done the work to set it up correctly. Once you see it in your mind… write it down.

Writing down your goals is an important part of the success process. Open the attached worksheet, describe your business a year from now. How are sales? How many new contacts do you have who joined your mailing list? How many visitors does you website get every day? How much are your monthly sales? What’s your net income? See it the way you envision it and write it down.

What to sellMost startups know what they are going to sell.

If you have not yet decided on what to sell or if you want to consider more options, here's an information ebook that may help. Download it.

Another tip most startups overlook is setting goals.

When you start a new business online, one of the first things you want to do is look ahead… do a little planning. Set your objectives. For those who really put in the time and thought to create a picture of what they want - not just now - but a year from now... well, these are the ones driven to succeed and they do.

It feels good to make money online

Find 100 people who want to succeed online and then follow them for ten years. Here's what you find.

Only 1 achieved wealth and riches, 4 made a ton of money, 5 continue to guess about how to profit from the Internet, throwing money at the problem, 36 have abandoned their site, and 54 blame their failure on the Internet... and continue to rely on a job they hate with no hope for financial freedom or early retirement.

That's 5 percent successful, 95 percent unsuccessful.

Do you want to be successful? Learn all you can before you begin. Get a mentor. Don't cut corners. Don't skimp on the important choices. Set goals. Goal setting is a picture — not necessarily a sales forecast. “See” your business the way you expect it to be — in a year — after you have done the work to set it up correctly. Once you see it in your mind… write it down.
